TB-60/TB-125 Natural Gas Torch Booster Description

TB-60 and TB-125 Torch Boosters raise standard utility natural gas pressure, often as low as 1/4 psi (7"WC) as high as 25 psi with a flow rate of either 60 cfh (60,000 BTU) or 125 cfh (125,000 BTU).

A Torch Booster is easy to use, just turn it on and get all the gas flow you need. When your torch or burner is lit the Torch Booster provides gas, when the torch or burner is not lit the Torch Booster puts itself into recirculation mode. TB-60 and TB-125 Torch Boosters are ready to use as soon as they are turned on - there are no storage tanks to fill and the Booster does not store any gas. They boost pressure and supply gas to the application as gas is used. The only controls are ON and OFF - the Torch Booster automatically adjusts to the gas flow demand of your torch or burner.

Typical Applications

Typical applications for the TB-60 Torch Booster include fueling 1 or 2 common flame cutting or brazing torches, an NC Tool Forge with 1 or 2 burners, a single Messer brand cutting torch or a single ham glazing torch.

Typical applications for the TB-125 Torch Booster include fueling up to 4 common flame cutting or brazing torches, up to 2 Messer brand cutting torches, an NC Tool Forge with up to 4 burners, XRF sample preparation, 1 Shrinkfast Model 975 or Model 998 Heat Tool, 1 Ripack Model 2000/2200/ 3000 Heat Tool or up to 2 ham glazing torches.

TB-60 and TB-125 Torch Boosters can fuel many other applications where the gas flow requirement is up to 125 cfh (125,000) and the pressure is 25 psi or less.. Contact G-TEC with more information about your natural gas requirements and let us recommend the right unit for your application.

Technical Description and Installation

TB-60 and TB-125 Torch Boosters are designed and manufactured to international standards and are permitted in buildings where gases in cylinders, such as propane and acetylene, are prohibited.

Utility supply gas pressure can range between 3.5" WC and 5 psi. The building gas supply pipe should be at least 3/4"" diameter for the TB-60 and 1" diameter for the TB-125 and present a 3/4" male tee for connection of the Torch Booster. G-TEC supplies a shut-off valve and a 5 foot flexible hose to connect the the building gas pipe.

In North America the power requirement is 120V 15 amp for TB-60, 120V 20 amp for TB-125. Internationally TB-60 and TB-125 Torch Boosters are available in 230V 50 Hz configurations.

The TB-60 and TB-125 cabinet measures 20" wide and 16" tall on the front panel and is 18" deep. TB-60 weighs about 100 pounds; TB-125 weighs about 125 pounds.

Scheduled maintenance includes changing a filter drier and two check valves every 2,000 hours of operation.
