TB-125C Natural Gas Torch Boosters
When an application is in an environment where ambient temperature is consistently above 90F/32C, where the duty cycle is more than 16 hours a day or where pressure greater than 60 psi is used a Heavy Duty TB-125C Torch Booster is recommended. TB-125C adds a Cooler Module to the Standard Duty TB-125 Torch Booster.
Heavy Duty TB-125C normal outlet pressure is 25 psi but can be modified up to 60 psi. Flow rate is 125 cfh. The Cooler Module is connected to the TB-125 with a pair of hoses that remove hot oil from the Booster Module, cool it in the Cooler Module and return the oil to the Booster.
Once started the TB-125C Torch Booster automatically adjusts to the gas flow demand of the application up to the capacity of the unit. There are no controls other than ON and OFF. The unit should be allowed to continue running for short breaks such as setting up the next task, breaks, lunch, etc. A single set of controls on the front of the Booster Module operates both units.
Typical Applications
Typical applications for the TB-125C Torch Booster include hot environments, 24 hours operation or mission-critical applications fueling up to 4 common flame cutting or brazing torches, up to 2 Messer brand cutting torches, an NC Tool Forge with up to 4 burners, XRF sample preparation, 1 Shrinkfast Model 975 or Model 998 Heat Tool, 1 Ripack Model 2000/2200/ 3000 Heat Tool or up to 2 ham glazing torches.
A single set of control buttons, power/start/stop, on the Booster Module (right) also operate the Cooler Module (left). Once started no operator attention is required - the Booster will automatically adjust to the flow demand of the application. Hot oil from the Booster is cooled by flowing through a readiator in the Cooler Module and returns to the compressor.
Technical Description and Installation
TB-125C Torch Boosters are designed and manufactured to international standards and are permitted in buildings where gases in cylinders, such as propane and acetylene, are prohibited.
Utility supply gas pressure can range between 3.5" WC and 5 psi. The building gas supply pipe should be at least 1" diameter and present a 3/4" male tee for connection of the Torch Booster. G-TEC supplies a shut-off valve and a 5 foot flexible hose to connect the the building gas pipe.
The Booster Module and Cooler Module are connected by a pair of 5 foot flexible hoses, the Cooler power cord plugs into the Booster Module. Both units are operated by controls on the Booster Module.
In North America the power requirement is 120V 20 amp; internationally TB-125C Torch Boosters are available in 230V 50 Hz configurations.

Both the TB-125C cabinet and Cooler Module cabinet measure 20" wide and 16" tall on the front panel and is 18" deep. TB-125 weighs about 125 pounds; the Cooler Module weighs 105 pounds.
Scheduled maintenance includes changing a filter drier and two check valves every 2,000 hours of operation. Oil filter on the Cooler Module is replaced after first 500 hours of operation; oil change every 6,000 hours of operation.
