TB-60 And TB-125 Torch Boosters For Up To 25 Torches

What is the right Torch Booster for my shop?

If your shop uses up to 12 bench torches and 1 smaller casting torch then the TB-60 Torch Booster is the right system for you.

 

If you have up to 25 bench torches then you should choose the TB-125 Torch Booster. If you use a Harris melting/casting torch with the 30N tip then TB-125 Torch Booster is also the right system for you. 

 

The number of torches that can be used simultaneously depends on the mix of bench and casting torches. TB-60 can run 6 bench torches at the same time; TB-125 can run 12 bench torches at the same time.

FDNY will allow up to 12 torches to be connected to the TB-60 Torch Booster and up to 25 torches connected to the TB-125 Torch Booster.

 

How does a Torch Booster work?

Both systems connect to your low-pressure utility natural gas pipe and boost pressure high enough to make gas flow through the flashback arrestor check valve and give you a hot flame on the torch.

 

Turn the Torch Booster on in the morning and off at the end of the day and that is all you need to do. Torch Boosters automatically supply the right amount of natural gas - you don’t need to adjust it during the day.

 

Torch Boosters are quiet and can be installed right next to your bench jewelers.

 

They boost utility natural gas to 25 psi, then you use a regulator to lower pressure to between 3 and 7 psi, which is the recommended pressure for most bench torches, or 10 psi which is best for casting torches.

 

How big is a Torch Booster?

TB-60 and TB-125 Torch Boosters are about the size of a window air conditioner; 20 “ wide, 16” tall and 18” deep. TB-60 weighs 90 lbs;     TB-125 weighs 125 lbs.

 

TB-60 requires a 3/4” utility natural gas supply pipe and uses 120V 15 amp electrical power.

 

TB-125 requires a 1” utility natural gas supply pipe and uses 120V 20amp electrical power.

There are important reasons why jewelers should have a G-TEC Torch Booster!

OSHA and municipal fire codes require flashback arrestors on any torch that mixes fuel gas and high pressure oxygen.

But in most places city gas pressure is so low that a flashback arrestor will block gas flow - a Torch Booster raises city gas pressure so that you can work safely and get great performance from your torch.

And most jewelers’ torches are designed to work with fuel gas pressure between 3-7psi but city gas pressure is only ¼ psi. Get better performance from your torch when you use the fuel gas pressure it was designed for!

In many places cylinders of propane or acetylene are prohibited but jewelers use them because they don’t see city gas as a viable option. G-TEC Torch Boosters are permitted everywhere so jewelers get superior performance from natural gas and stay on the right side of the law.
