A G-TEC TB-30 Torch Booster connects to a standard low-pressure utility natural gas pipe and boosts pressure as high as 25 psi for superior casting. Natural gas burns at the same temperature as propane but is cleaner, costs half as much and with a G-TEC Torch Booster you never have to refill empty cylinders. Turn the Booster on and you are ready to start casting!

If you cast with propane you can keep using the torch you already own.

If you cast with acetylene keep the torch handle and change the tip.

A G-TEC Torch Booster TB-30 can be installed “anywhere” - it does not need ventilation, it is quiet and small. In most cases you can remove your propane tank and put the G-TEC system right in the same place. It runs on standard 120V 15 amp power from a normal wall outlet.

TB-30 Torch Booster does not store any gas - it boosts pressure as the torch uses gas. It is ready for service as soon as you turn it on.

G-TEC Torch Boosters are welcomed in any building in North America,

even places where cylinders of propane and acetylene are prohibited!

After learning about G-TEC one Colorado Fire Marshal exclaimed,

“This is a fireman’s dream!”

Dangerous acetylene gas cylinder.

Why high pressure natural gas is better than acetylene

Acetylene is unstable, dirty, expensive and highly volatile.

If an acetylene cylinder is dropped or falls over it can explode. If you set the regulator above 15 psi acetylene can explode. With a G-TEC system there is no cylinder - gas is supplied as it is used.

When you light an acetylene torch you get a dark cloud of carbon soot, dirtying your work area. Natural gas has very little carbon and burns cleanly all the time. You won’t see a carbon buildup on your torch, either.

A 40 cubic foot cylinder of acetylene may cost $25 or more - the amount of natural gas you need for equal heat costs about $ 1.

If acetylene leaks it will combust in air in any concentration from 2% to 80% and the heat of a static electricity spark is enough to ignite it. Natural gas burns in a concentration of only 5% to 15 % in air and it takes a very hot spark to ignite.

Dangerous propane gas cylinder.

Why high pressure natural gas is better than propane

Propane has a lot of carbon, is expensive, heavier than air and it smells bad

Propane has 4 times as much carbon as natural gas and you have to be careful not to carbonize palladium and base alloys - natural gas has little carbon and produces cleaner castings

Natural gas and propane burn at about the same temperature but for equal BTUs natural gas is 50% less expensive.

Propane is heavier than air so any leaks will sink to the lowest spot in  your lab and wait for a spark. Natural gas is lighter than air so leaked gas will rise and dissipate.

Propane just smells bad and the odor lingers because leaked gas is hard to dissipate. Natural gas smells like gas, but a G-TEC Torch Booster uses a hermetically sealed compressor so your chances of actually smelling gas are slim!

And you’ll never have to take a G-TEC Torch Booster to the store to be refilled!

All about the G-TEC  TB-30 Torch Booster…

A TB-30 Torch Booster is compact - 12” wide, 12” tall and 16” deep and weighs about 50 pounds. It can be placed anywhere there is enough room for the cooling fan to blow room air through the system.

TB-30 is quiet - it uses the same kind of compressor you would find in a small refrigerator and we customize it to work with natural gas.

TB-30 uses standard electrical power - plug it into a standard 120V 15 amp wall outlet.

TB-30 is easy to use - just turn the system on and it automatically adjusts to the gas flow your torch needs. There are no controls or adjustments while you work and it automatically puts itself in standby mode when you turn off your torch to get ready for the next cast.

TB-30 is easy to install - your plumber only needs to install a 1/2” pipe on your building gas pipe. TB-30 comes with a shutoff valve and connection hose - everything you need to connect.

Keep the regulator you already use on your propane or acetylene tank - TB-30 comes with an adapter that lets you use the regulator you already own to set natural gas pressure to your torch.

TB-30 is safe! - TB-30 is designed and manufactured for safety, reliability and performance.

If a TB-30 Torch Booster springs a leak on the high pressure outlet side it

automatically turns itself off - a propane or acetylene cylinder would continue

to leak until it is empty, filling your laboratory with flammable gas.
